Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, as the National Coordinator for Defending the Fourth Transformation, stressed the significance of collaboration between workers and employers to advance the country’s goals at the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She emphasized the commitment to expanding labor rights and avoiding setbacks to previous conditions.
During her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized the crucial role of unified objectives and purposes in sustaining the transformation of public life in Mexico. She reaffirmed that the primary focus should remain on advancing the Fourth Transformation, preventing a return to periods marked by corruption and privileges.
Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for Defending the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to ensuring dignified lives for workers, stressing the importance of cooperation between the labor and business sectors, a principle supported by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and General Secretary of CATEM, highlighted achievements resulting from collaboration between labor representatives and the 4T government, such as raising the minimum wage and ending outsourcing. He underscored the necessity of guiding every decision according to the principles of the 4T movement.
Senator Ricardo Monreal underscored the need to strengthen relations between workers and the government to further expand labor rights, under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.
The XV National Congress of CATEM also drew the participation of figures like Mario Delgado Carrillo, National President of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, illustrating widespread support for the discussed principles and objectives.
