On December 20th, the Mamã Madalena Shelter and the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion, located in the Urban Districts of Cazenga and Benfica, respectively, received a donation of essential items from MINEA. These items included perishable and non-perishable food, clothing, beds, and toys, as part of MINEA’s social responsibility initiative.
The goal of this act of solidarity was to offer moments of companionship and support to the underprivileged children in these centers, aligning with the festive spirit of the year 2023. The Mamã Madalena Shelter, established by Mamã Madalena Catué on May 15th, 2021, was among the first recipients of this philanthropic gesture. Currently, the shelter accommodates approximately 90 children and features seven dormitories, a kitchen, two bathrooms, a school offering education from 1st to 9th grade, a playground, and a recreational area. It serves youth from various regions of Angola and is situated in the Cazenga district, specifically in the Kima Kieza area.
Following this, attention turned to the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion in the urban district of Benfica. Presently, the center caters to 115 beneficiaries and offers three literacy classrooms, an arts and crafts room, a computer lab, facilities for kitchen and table assistant training, a hairdressing training area, a space for family psychological support, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy.
The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, CEO of ENDE, Eng. Hélder de Jesus Garcia Adão, MINEA officials, and representatives from companies supporting this noble cause, including CMEC, CR20, HUANTONG, ANGOLA INDUSTRY, DAR ANGOLA, José e Rode, Ossiyeto, Seth e Lis, Sinohydro, Odebrecht, MCA, Dar Angola, CGGC, and ELECNOR.
